I booked in advance,as was asked it it was a special occasion. I advised it was a birthday lunch.
We arrived to the host/supervisor talking to another staff member for a few minutes without any acknowledgement, and then when he finally turned to look at us, there was no greeting at all. We followed him to a table and then a waiter took over. Our food order was incorrect and when I highlighted this the food runner said oh well you have gravy there. I asked for horseradish 3 times, gravy and another drinks order twice before any arrived. The food was mostly nice. The sourdough bread was lovely, we did need to ask twice for more butter.
The Yorkshire puddings were full of oil in the bottom, so I wouldn't order those again.
The rest of the roast was just okay. We felt like an imposition whenever we were checked up upon. We declined dessert.
Prior to arriving I received an email to say my booking had been upgraded to a VIP table. I'm not sure what this would normally include, but if this was it, then it was a huge shortfall.
I'm guessing it was beavuse in the booking I advised of birthday lunch, at no point did any one even say happy birthday. There was zero 'vip' table. On the whole I'd say the food was average, the serive was poor, and what I perceive to be management rude. I wouldn't come back.

Absolutely fabulous experience today . Staff were very attentive, food was amazing , overall a great lunch . I had roast beef , it was yummy 🥰 the espresso martini was very nice too xx

We were looked after by Abbie who was lovely and catered to our needs. We had a lovely brunch at Browns with a surprise birthday desert. Also recommend the mango smoothie.

The afternoon tea that we had was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! The service was excellent and the waiters were very good about re-filling our teapots, free of charge. Some of our group found the Victoria sponge cake far too sweet (I thought the same but it was still very nice and light). Some of us also thought there was a little too much chutney in the cheese sandwich. The menu was excellent, with a wide variety of exquisite savoury and sweet treats, many of which were typically British, so perfect for my French guests who wanted to sample British cuisine! The elderflower and pear tea was delicious! The ambiance and decor of the room was stunning! Thank you very much for a very positive experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed!

The restaurant is lovely! So clean, the food was amazing and the cocktails! The staff were so welcoming and our server Abbie was the most welcoming, kind and helpful server! As well too the gentleman who seated us and made sure we were taken care off!

Well worth every penny. Staff made my partner feel special on her birthday. With free prosecco and dessert. Would highly recommend. Will be going back again soon.

There's only 3 customer this morning, yet the service was inattentive. The milk came with black bits of dirt in it. I asked the server to replace it, but they simply tried to pour some out and wipe the rim. The milk that came back was still dirty. The Eggs Benedict were overcooked and the lobster was fishy, not fresh. They also forgot my tap water. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience.

Attempted to scam and upcharge us at every opportunity. Immediately attempted to charge £2500 when we'd agreed to only paying £25 per person. Then changed the £25 to £27 etc. Scum!
